After a server has been selected, NGINX selects a location from within that server. Locations covers that selection process.

After NGINX selects a server to respond to a request, it next looks for a location. Locations are based on the URI of the request and offer more finely grained control of how NGINX responds than just the server directive. Once you've completed this module you'll be able to set up prefix and regex locations for your NGINX servers.
